Pittsburgh Showhouse

A Louis XV powder room in the Negley-Gwinner-Harter House in the heart of Shadyside in Pittsburgh

We had fun contributing to the 2003 Junior League Showhouse, “Parisian Splendor on Millionaires’ Row”. The Louis XV style vanity and the chandelier were already in the room. We decided to embrace the elegance of the Louis XV period and create a jewelry box. The high ceiling was brought down to human scale and softened by fabric creating a tent effect. The gold leaf mirror and sconces complement the vanity and stand out against the faux painted blue walls. Even the artwork is representative of the Louis XV era.
